Standard Aluminum Frames

Whitewater rafting puts man's ingenuity and skills against the forces of nature in a sport that has no equal. Since it was founded in 1978, RecreTec (Formerly Cascade Fabrication) has specialized in custom raft frames and rafting related equipment of high durability and quality. RecreTec's craftsmen combine extensive river adventure experience with the most modern manufacturing technologies including CNC lasers, press-brakes and CAD/CAM software.

Standard Aluminum Frames

Standard aluminum frames are constructed of #6061 aircraft aluminum tube with 1-inch diameter .125 wall thickness.

All RecreTec frames come with 3,500 lb. nylon straps with 1-inch cam buckes. Floor panels and seats are constructed of marine-grade plywood and covered with a skid and water-resistant material.

Rec 72 Two Man Cat Frame

Our Rec 72 Front Position Power Cat Frame is our "Sport Utility" allowing for forward weight placement to punch through the biggest boilers when you are spinning around on your own and accomodating for overnight trips with both a cooler and a dry box bay. This frame screams versatility!

Available in one piece or break down. Standard or Rock Crusher Series sized tubing in Steel or Aluminum. Note - we do not recommend Break Down Frames for Cat Boats.

Small/Day Cat Frame

The economical sports car of cat frames. At only 20lbs in Aluminum and 35 lbs in Steel this quick, light, strong cat frame is for the rower that just wants to have fun!

Tunnel Cat

The Lamborghini upgrade to our already sporty cat frame! Incorporating a raised tunnel bridge chute through the center of the frame, this is a must upgrade for you guys the lay havock to the Upper Sandy, the Umpqua in Summer and the Clackamas anytime! When the rock is going between our tubes you better hope you have this frame that gives you "straddle clearances."

Oddysey

By far our most popular round boat frame. This frame, originally designed for the Odyssey raft, is a light but extremely strong 3 day frame. With the universal configurations we offer this frame in you can use it for short day trips having 1-3 passengers or multiple overnight trips with our removeable table/bench option, 2-dry box bays and a cooler area. It also boasts an adjustable rower foot bar on our break down model.

The Outfitter™ — Built Tough for Normal or Expedition Use

A tough river runner for commercial or expedition use, the Outfitter is available in either steel or aluminum, one-piece or take-down configurations, and has several options available.

The Standard Outfitter model has seats and room for a cooler, with a Skidgard™ rower's seat over the rear thwart (with an adjustable footbar) and another Skidgard seat over the front thwart for passengers. The cooler sits in a frame behind the passenger seat.

In expedition configuration, the Outfitter is available with aluminum dry boxes. Just order the optional Packer Bars, and the aluminum dry boxes will drop between the bars and rest on welded brackets. Oarlock stands bolt to plates on side rails and are adjustable. The dropped center section holds the cooler frame and footbar, and has riveted nylon cooler retention straps.

Cargo/ Cooler Modules

Providing a high degree of flexibility, these separate modules allow you to use your single-tube catarafts alone or in any combination. Use the Rower and/or the Cargo Modules with short catarafts, or all three with a larger (i.e. 14-foot or more) cataraft.

Featuring racks for an adjustable tractor-style seat, the Rower Module is 48-inches long with adjustable oarlock stands, an adjustable footbar and a Skidgard floor.

The 40-inch Passenger Module has a Skidgard bench seat and floor.

The 30-inch Cargo has a Skidgard floor only.

Given sufficient raft capacity, you could replace the rower and passenger seats with dry boxes.

Standard modules are of steel construction in a single unit construction. Aluminum construction and take-down versions are available as options.

Center width is generally 44-inches for 14-foot/24-inch tube catarafts, but may be modified.
